Connection Point Intern

We are looking for a bright young intern to help us with our newest project, Connection Point.  Connection Point links Arab and Muslim women with women from western countries in a vibrant online community. It works to end misunderstanding and stereotyping, to build on common ground, to educate, inspire, and connect. It’s the place women talk about their lives and their work, comment on current events, share vital information, and foster bonds of empathy voice by voice.

We are looking for an Arabic speaking intern.

Duties will include:

1. Researching articles, books, and blogs that are related to what women are doing in the Arab and Muslim world
2. Researching Middle Eastern women’s organizations
3. Active involvement in our peace community
4. Editing  in Arabic and English
5. There will be opportunities to write for our weekly and monthly e-publications.

Sixty Years, Sixty Voices Intern

Increase the odds for peace by managing distribution of a major book on Palestinian and Israeli women, Sixty Years, Sixty Voices, to decision-makers in government and on the Hill, university programs, conferences of international organizations, and more.  You will find the right places for the most impact for women-power in peace-building, make the connections, and get the books into the right hands.  You’ll work directly with the editor-interviewer-photographer, the founder of Peace X Peace.

Peace X Peace is offering an exciting peace-building internship to work directly with our founder, Patricia Smith Melton. This intern would manage the distribution of Patricia’s book, Sixty Years, Sixty Voices, a book of interviews, photos, and biographies of key women of Israel and Palestine.

Tasks will include:

1. Finding  government representatives and officials, university programs, media spokespeople, and national and international organizations that should have copies of Sixty Years, Sixty Voices to increase their resources and impact their decision-making.
2. Contact these decision-makers and get copies of Sixty Voices to them.
3. Work with Patricia to develop marketing and outreach strategy for national and international promotion of Sixty Voices
