Kimberly Weichel, Chief Executive Officer
Kimberly Weichel is a social entrepreneur who has worked for 30 years building bridges between cultures and segments of society, providing the skills and education that people need to improve their own lives. She is an advocate for women’s advancement and empowerment and has trained and supported women in many countries. Her background includes experience directing international projects, peacebuilding initiatives, cross-cultural and conflict resolution training, education programs, and international development. She directed change projects in South Africa for five years under apartheid, led citizen diplomacy trips and directed business training programs in the former Soviet Union, and has worked with many international agencies and consulting firms, including the United Nations. Previously Kim co-founded and directed the Institute for Peacebuilding, offering courses, training, and consulting in conflict resolution and peace leadership. Mary L. Liepold, Editor in Chief
Mary Liston Liepold, Ph.D., has 30 years of experience writing and editing a wide range of materials for national nonprofits, federal and state agencies, and individual authors, and 10 years raising funds for major nonprofits. Before coming to Peace X Peace Dr. Liepold spent 14 years at the Child Welfare League of America, where she developed and for eight years edited the magazine Children’s Voice. From 2000 through 2005 she wrote speeches for CWLA President Shay Bilchik while raising several million dollars in federal and foundation grants and developing the organization’s first individual giving program.
Earlier, she worked for the American Catholic Lay Network, the National Science Teachers Association, and Peace Links. Mary earned her doctorate in American Literature and Linguistics from the Catholic University of America. Mother of four, grandmother of five, and a daycare mom for 15 happy years before joining the salaried workforce, Dr. Liepold believes with Gandhi that if we want peace, we have to begin with the children. She also believes that if the people lead, the leaders will follow, and she lives that maxim daily at Peace X Peace.

Yasmina Mrabet, Director, Connection Point initiative & Web Content Editor
Yasmina Mrabet is Director of the Peace X Peace Connection Point initiative, a global dialogue initiative aimed at connecting Arab, Muslim, and Western women around the world. Yasmina has lived and traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, and her experience in the field of conflict resolution has focused on intercultural dialogue aimed at addressing feelings of mutual fear and suspicion between the ‘West’ and the Arab and Muslim ‘world.’ She strongly believes in the importance of creating platforms that highlight the voices, perspectives and contributions of women to society around the world. Yasmina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Virginia. She received her Master’s degree from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, where she focused her research on how Arab Muslim women negotiate identity and navigate conflict in the American university setting.

Nawal Rajeh, Administration and Outreach Manager
Nawal has over six years of experience in the conflict resolution/peace education field. She has run trainings for teachers, as well as, in-class intervention programs for inner-city youth in Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and Baltimore City. She co-founded and runs a Peace Camp each summer that has served hundreds of children and families and focuses on skills of anger management, nonviolence, and peace education. Nawal has also trained several groups of conflict resolution practitioners in strategies of working with gender and conflict; she also has been part of a team that led peacebuilding tours to the Middle East that focus on citizen diplomacy in conflict zones. She believes deeply in peace from the ground up and the power of citizens, and especially women, to affect real change in their societies. After graduating college, Nawal spent time as a community organizer with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Baltimore City working on youth and family programs that aimed to help the unemployed and raise literacy among youth. Nawal received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Peace Studies from Westminster College where she focused her research on Asylum seekers in the US and US weapons sales to developing countries. She received her Master of Science degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University.
