"But I Don't Have A Computer"
You can still join us!
- Form a Circle of friends. Only one person in the Circle needs access to an email terminal, cell phone, PDA, or computer that's connected to the internet. Read about Circles and their history.
- It is ideal for each women to have her own email address, but a Circle only needs one email address to connect with women in our Global Network. There are several ways to get free email access and to create an email address.
Try http://www.yahoo.com/, http://www.msn.com/, http://www.google.com/, http://www.gmail.com/, or http://www.hotmail.com. These websites will explain how to get a free email address. When you choose an email address and password, be sure to write it down and keep it in a safe place. You will need this information each time you use your email account.
- If you don't have access to the internet, try a cyber café, a public office, or a friend's home computer. Check with membersupport@peacexpeace.org to see if we have other members in your region who might lend a hand.
- Once you have access, go to the Peace X Peace website, http://www.peacexpeace.org/, and create your profile. Register your Circle, using one email address. If others in the Circle have email addresses, ask one woman to register all the members.
- The one who registers your Circle may want to print out documents to share: Money Guide, Communication Guide, Circle Principles, Expectations Guide, and Covenant.
- Meet with your Circle and discuss:
- How often your Circle will meet and how often you commit to an email exchange in the Global Network
- How you want to use Circle Principles in your time together and what you want to share with your Sister Circle
Remember that the communication between you and your Sister Circle is based on trust and friendship in a safe and secure email space. If the foundation for friendship is firm, creative ideas for projects, initiatives, and the exchange of resources have a chance to emerge.
Your journey of friendship begins.
