Create or Join a Circle
Women are connecting through the Peace X Peace Global Network as individuals and as Circles. Circle is the term we apply to any group of women who embrace feminine principles for communication, referred to as Circle Principles.
You can bring a group, club, organization or Circle that you currently belong to into the Global Network to connect with another Circle. Circles join the Global Network to communicate with other women who share their interests. For example:
- A Circle of friends connects with a group of women in another nation to build peace by learning about each other and sharing their lives.
- A beading Circle in Detroit connects with a Circle of women in Jerusalem who also do beading.
- A group of university professors in Texas connects with a Circle of professors in Indonesia.
You can create a Circle with family members, friends, colleagues, or neighbors. specifically for the purpose of connecting with another Circle.
- Mothers and daughters connect with other mothers and daughters.
- Husbands and wives connect their families with other families.
- Members of a congregation or faith community come together to share faith or embrace members of different faiths-often, to do both.
You can join an existing group, club, or organization, introduce them to Peace X Peace, and bring them into the Global Network. There are many ways to find local groups, including referrals by friends, searching online by interest area, and MeetUp.com. The possibilities are unlimited!
Guidelines for Creating a Circle in the Peace X Peace Global Network
- 5 - 10 members is a good size for a Circle. When Circles are larger than this it is hard for each member to be heard and for your Sister Circle to get to know you all. When your group has more than 10 members you may choose to break into two groups, or even more. Congratulations on your success!
- When a Circle becomes so large that individual members do not experience a personal connection with their Sister Circle it is probably time to make connections in smaller groups.
- Include everyone in the conversation. Be sure each member gives you their current and accurate email address so you can invite them into your Peace X Peace Circle.
- Include men in your Circle if this is appropriate to your purpose. The mission of Peace X Peace is to connect women for peace, so men can not create a Circle in the Global Network. Still, many men are active members who support the mission of Peace X Peace.
- Make an agreement that your Circle will communicate with your connections at least once a month to keep your relationship green and growing.
Women are welcome to connect with other women one to one and as a member of a Circle or more than one Circle. You may connect in all the ways that you are inspired to and that support the women and Circles who accept your invitation. It's a wide, wide world!
Your first step is to become a Peace X Peace member. It's free! Then complete a profile to be connected globally in our community of women around the world.
