US President Obama’s new commitment of $63 billion to fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and polio on the African continent came with the declaration that “we won’t confront illnesses in isolation.” He knows our global health challenges are connected, just as we are―or need to be. “I see Africa as a fundamental part of our interconnected world,” Obama declared.
